Kayaking North from Brookings-Harbor's Harbor and Hugging the Coast
A cormorant drying its wings. All the stuff in the water is kelp.
Starfish hanging out on the rocks that poke out here and there in the Pacific. Half the time the waves kept them underwater. I almost capsized my kayak getting this picture (a swell picked me up and sat me down on the rock; the next wave knocked me off it and got me wet . . . and cold).

Second Kayaking Trip in the Pacific
Nest on top.
That's a Great Blue Heron on the right side of the rock. Not too far from her/him I found a dead, bloated, bleached white dead sea lion. I didn't take a picture.
Cormorants, hanging out on the rocks and leaving nice, pretty white streaks.
Its kind of hard to tell, but that little blob in the middle of the picture, behind the floating kelp, is a sea lion. That one and few others stalked me, but they never got too close. My biggest fear now is that when I get D.T.'s fishing pole up and running and start fishing I'm going to catch one of these guys on accident.
The goofy looking bird on the shore is an oyster catcher. For some reason, my big, clunky, orange kayak scared it off.
More Beach
Cloudy, like it almost always is.
This is an old, dried out tree. The middle has rotten away. The picture doesn't do it justice, but this thing is huge. I'm standing on top (its about twice as tall as I am). The hole is big enought for two or so people. Its just sitting on the beach with a bunch of other massive logs.
